Should I take the Certification or Recertification course?
Forklift Operator Training
The Forklift Operator Certification is intended for operators who have never received a certification to operate a forklift, while the MEWP (Aerial & Scissor Lift) Certification is intended for operators who have never received a certification to operate a boom lift, scissor lift, or any other MEWP.
The Forklift Operator Recertification is intended for operators who have been certified previously. An operator may need to complete a refresher recertification for any of the following reasons:
- The operator has been observed to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner
- The operator has been involved in an accident or near-miss incident
- The operator has been evaluated by their employer and revealed to not be operating the truck in a safe manner
- The operator is asked to perform on a truck they are currently not certified to use
- A workplace condition were to change in a way that could affect safe operation of the truck
- The operator’s existing certification has expired.
MEWP (Aerial & Scissor Lift) Training
The MEWP (Aerial & Scissor Lift) Certification is intended for operators who have never received a certification to operate a boom lift, scissor lift, or any other MEWP.
The MEWP (Aerial & Scissor Lift) Recertification is intended for operators who have been certified previously. An operator may need to complete a refresher recertification for any of the following reasons:
- The operator has been observed to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner.
- The operator has been involved in an accident or near-miss incident in the MEWP.
- The operator is asked to perform on an MEWP they are currently not certified to use or that uses a new or different MEWP technology.
- The operator has gone an extended period of time without operating an MEWP.
- The operator’s existing certification has expired.
Fall Protection Training
The Fall Protection Certification is intended for workers who have never received a certification to work at heights with personal fall protection systems.
The Fall Protection Recertification is intended for workers who have been certified previously. A worker may need to complete a refresher recertification for any of the following reasons:
- Your on-the-job performance indicates a gap in knowledge or skill set.
- You are asked to perform work that requires fall protection you are currently not trained and certified to use.
- A workplace condition changes in a way that could affect the safety of you and your colleagues.
- The training receives an update from OSHA, ANSI, CSA or your employer that renders the previous training obsolete.
- The worker’s existing certification has expired.
